The Blount-Bridgers Gardens
Description
The Blount-Bridgers Arboretum surrounds the 1808 Blount-Bridgers House, ca 1808, which houses the Hobson Pittman Memorial Gallery. The arboretum’s collection houses over 40 species of trees and woody plants, including an NC Champion Big Tree, a post oak, Quercus stellate. This area is one of Tarboro’s public green spaces where many public and private events are held and a favorite place for photographers. The gardens, funded by the Town of Tarboro and donations, has taken the stewardship of the property to a new level.
