California State University San Marcos Campus Arboretum

The Cal State San Marcos Arboretum has been created with the intention to provide a resource to educate our students, faculty, staff, and community members about the plant species that surround them on campus. The Arboretum Pathway includes native plants, drought tolerant plants, and ornamental landscape plantings. It also includes an ethnobotany garden, which is used as a lab for our students and faculty members. Our Ethnobotany garden highlights local indigenous plants and provides insight on how Native Tribes benefit from their uses. It’s been a goal of CSUSM to formalize our commitment to education about trees and the preservation of trees for many years.
