City of Newport News Arboretum

The City of Newport News Arboretum is a living, city-wide celebration of our community’s trees—spanning neighborhoods, parks, and historic sites across the city. From the native pawpaw trees at Endview Plantation to the graceful magnolia grove at Huntington Park and the stately Live Oaks surrounding the Victory Arch, each tree tells a story of Newport News’ natural beauty and heritage. Managed by a partnership of city staff and dedicated volunteers, including Master Naturalist Tree Stewards, the arboretum uses innovative GIS mapping and public engagement programs—like their annual Arbor Day celebration, urban forestry initiative, and interactive educational programs—to connect people to the trees that shape our city.
