The Hope Cemetery Arboretum combines 30 acres of landscaped rural cemetery and 75 acres of native forest with over two miles of walking trails.  Located in the heart of historic Kennebunk village, the arboretum protects and preserves vital green space for reflection and solitude, educational programming and passive recreation.  The tree collection includes new appropriately curated specimen trees that enhance and expand existing historic collections.   525 individual trees represent 80 taxa and the arboretum board plans to extend this tree collection in both historic and new areas of the cemetery while protecting the diversity and habitat of the native forested areas.  Self-guided walking tours are available along with special public and school programs.
