Luthy Botanical Garden serves as a vibrant garden showcase and resource center, highlighting the vital connections between people and plants. Nestled in historic Glen Oak Park, Luthy Botanical Garden sits near the Peoria Zoo, and the Peoria Playhouse Children’s Museum, offering visitors unique educational opportunities. 

The garden features nearly six acres of themed gardens and borders designed around a central conservatory, providing year‑round opportunities for learning and exploration. The conservatory houses a distinctive collection of tropical and sub-tropical plants, including cycads, citrus, palms, cacti and succulents. Open year-round, one can experience each passing season with beautiful everchanging displays of seasonal interest, while changing displays of lilies, chrysanthemum and poinsettia provide added interest within the conservatory.

Unique trees & collections: 

• The Garden is home to a rich diversity of nearly 1300 trees and shrubs, representing over 160 species, including a strong representation of native Midwestern taxa.
• Spring is especially beautiful, featuring Flowering Crabapple, Redbud, Dogwood and Magnolia, complemented with drifts of daffodils and many other spring ephemerals.
• Historic century-old memorial groves of oak and ginkgo frame the garden.
• Encompassing numerous themed gardens & borders, the garden provides unique interpretive and learning opportunities, supporting the Garden’s mission to inspire curiosity, stewardship, and appreciation for the botanical world.
