The Ron Sapp Egans Creek Greenway (Greenway) is a protected area of over 300 acres that runs north to south along Ron Sapp Egans Creek. The Greenway was opened for public use in the summer of 2000 as an undeveloped park for passive recreational use. The Greenway includes an Upland Hardwood forest and a Maritime Hammock. Benches and interpretive displays are located throughout the Greenway. Accreditation as an arboretum raises awareness and celebrates the horticultural collections of the Greenway. The objective is to provide the public an accessible, educational local arboretum experience to enhance their knowledge of North Florida flora and a better understanding of the importance of conservation.
