The Arboretum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery
Overlooking the majestic Hudson River, the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery is situated on 165 acres located in the Town of Poughkeepsie, New York. This property reveals the rich history of its past and present. The Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery displays architecture from the 19th Century, beautiful landscape originally designed by landscape architect Howard Daniels. Many individuals who influenced the shaping of local and national events are memorialized in this sacred place. Our arboretum collection encompasses the old and the new, with many trees dating back to the cemeteries’ beginning.
