The EGPD Morton Park Arboretum

The Elk Grove Park District’s Morton Park was named for Julius Sterling Morton, co-founder of Arbor Day and supporter of forest preservation. Morton Park is 8 linear acres consisting of a variety of trees among the Park District’s recreational amenities. At the center of the park in an old Oak stand, where many of the oaks are at specimen quality. This area was the inspiration in creating our arboretum and dedicating resources to grow the collection, expand educational opportunities, and expand recreational opportunities to our residents and visitors.

The arboretum is a reflection of us living out our Vision Statement to-“Go beyond the expected!”
