University of Arkansas, Fort Smith Arboretum

UAFS has grown over the past 90 years from its small start as a junior college.  Even with the changes over the years, the love for trees has remained with the University.  While not a particularly special specimen, the loblolly pine trees are a staple here at our University and to remove them is like removing a sacred emblem.  The UAFS arboretum is located in the heart of Fort Smith, AR, and is the gem of the city.  Students and locals alike are able to enjoy the green spaces available with the ample supply of shade provided by the tree canopy.
