The University of Texas at Austin

Description

The campus landscape of The University of Texas at Austin serves as an unconventional arboretum dedicated to a diverse collection of both native and adapted tree species for Central Texas. It is a community forest providing shaded escape into green spaces, opportunities for education and research, and habitat for pollinators and wildlife. The university hosts annual events to engage students, faculty and staff in the celebration and care of campus trees. Almost 5,000 trees are inventoried, with information, assessed values and ecosystem benefits available for public access online.
