Weston Community Arboretum

The Weston Community Arboretum has grown out of the Weston Tree & Plant Groups passion to promote some of the outstanding trees and open spaces that we have in Weston-super-Mare. Promoting Clarance Park West and the wonderful windswept London Planes or Milton Cemetery with their interesting mix of trees and wildflowers is part of the reason why the group was first conceived.

The trees which have been identified are a mix of species and ages which either hark back to the Victorian era parks or are part of the new heritage and expansion that is currently taking place in Weston-super-Mare. We have old specimen trees like the Lucombe Oak in Farm Close which has been incorporated in the design of the 1990’s / 2000’s housing estate or the 10-15 year old Hornbeams which adorn the newer open space off Langford Road (Millennium Green) which showcase how important newer landscaping can be.

Weston-super-Mare has lower than average canopy cover for the UK; by highlighting and unashamedly showing off our fantastic trees, we hope to inspire local residents to plant appropriate tree species in their gardens and get involved with the Weston Tree & Plant Group to help green our town for future generations.
