Sleepy Hollow Cemetery

Description

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery was founded in 1849 as part of the garden cemetery movement.  By design, it was meant to be a place for the living, as well as the dead.  The rolling hills and thousands of trees here make this a place of great beauty and serenity.  Over 25 species of trees have been tagged along the paths most frequently used to enhance our visitor experience.  Along the way, people will see Horse Chestnut trees, American Elms, White Spruce, American Beech, White Cedar, Austrian Pine, Sugar Maples, Tulip trees and many more.
